Alicudi is the westernmost of the Aeolian Islands. It is inhabited by no more than 150 people who gain little during the summer months. Alicudi is definitely less touristy, but probably the most real of all the islands. Its sea is clear and its waters are very rich. There is only one beach within walking distance and close Alicudi port. The coasts are mostly above the sea. In front of the east coast is the rock Galera. The island has the classic cone shape and the crater is the most exposed wire harp, which has 675 meters down to the sea. On the island there are towns like lowercase Alicudi port, San Bartolo and Tona. But the houses are scattered along the side of the mountain and connected by steep paths.
